50/60S are our flagship Stratocaster set for good reason. They combines the tone found in the 50s and 60s to create a set that works in any guitar they're put in. After creating the 64S and 57S, Ron wanted to combine the harmonic quality found in both eras and found success with the blend of parts found in 50/60S.
50/60S have a tight punchy sound on the E, A and D strings and a beautiful compression and bloom on the G, B and E strings. They sound great in any Strat wood combination due to the calibrated string and pickup balance.
When you think of 50/60S think John Mayer, David Gilmour, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. The pickups cover a wide range of playing styles and applications.
The 50/60S Strat is the choice of Eric Johnson, Brad Paisley, Pete Thorn, Anson Funderburgh, Jeff Ruiz, Mick Taylor to name a few.
Non-RWRP version: the middle pickup is not Reverse Wound/Reverse Polarity, as in pre-'70s Stratocasters. In this case there is no hum cancelling in the 2nd and 4th position of the switch.
