Electronic Sustainer bow, creates a magnetic field that causes strings to vibrate infinitely

JGE-01 contains an electronic circuit, powered by a 9V battery housed in the handle, which produces an electromagnetic field that induces a continuous vibration in the string within its range: this allows the player unlimited sustain, such as to emulate the sound of bowed (hence the name) or wind instruments, as well as facilitating playing techniques on the guitar fretboard, especially legato and glissando.

JGE-01 works on any guitar with metal strings, even on folk guitars without amplification; however, it is not suitable for classical guitars and other instruments with nylon strings, such as the ukulele.

The device is designed to vibrate only one string at a time and rests on the two strings adjacent to the one you intend to play, thanks to special grooved reliefs located at the base of the body: the latter is designed to leave the string in the middle free to vibrate.

Use on the electric guitar, thanks to the interaction with pickups, allows for a wide tonal range and a variety of playing techniques. For example, moving the JGE-01 closer to or farther away from the guitar's magnet - lengthwise to the strings - allows a fair amount of control over the intensity of the electromagnetic trigger and thus the dynamics of the performance

JGE-01 is designed in such a way as to enable the performer to move easily and quickly from one string to another, without detaching it from the strings themselves, with transverse motion analogous to that of a bow on a stringed instrument In the presence of magnets the response of the strings is almost instantaneous; however, in order to minimize the interruption of sound in the transition from one string to another, it is necessary that in the movement the device be right above the magnet, that is, on the area of maximum response. Such a position allows even very fast arpeggios, similar to the sweep-picking technique or, again, to arpeggios performed on string instruments. Other expressive effects facilitated by the use of the JGE-01 are staccato and reverse (i.e., a guitar-like sound on a tape played backwards), but both of these pertain more to the manuality of performance than to the technology of the device itself.The use of the JGE-01 on the first and last strings may require specific expedients, first of all because in such cases the device has only one adjacent string to rest on instead of two; moreover, the highest string, being the thinnest, is also the most difficult to vibrate, while the lowest string, for the opposite reasons, responds much more quickly. In particular, use on the highest string may require slight tilting of the JGE-01 by wrist rotation to bring the device closer to the string and preserve the effect of the magnetic field
