With an 88-key piano action, the GHS (Graded Hammer Standard) keyboard emulates the touch of an acoustic piano, giving a naturally heavy feel on the lower keys and a lighter touch on the upper octaves. The GHS keyboard provides a grand piano-style response and feel, allowing rapid repetition of notes and authentic expressive control. In addition, there is a half-pedal function that authentically replicates the action of the dampers on a grand piano, providing rich expressive variation.

Of course, the YDP-S55 has an authentic grand piano sound, but it also features various other built-in instrument sounds, with a total of 10 voices, including electric piano, organ, vibraphone and strings.

The YDP-S55 also has 353 built-in songs, including 50 famous classical pieces and 303 complete practice exercises from famous methods, such as Beyer, Burgmüller, Czerny and Hanon.
