Made by Vandoren in 1983 for jazz and popular music. The characteristic feature of this reed is that they are made with a thicker reed tip than traditional reeds (the area of maximum vibration), supported by a longer solid spine (reed thickness increases near the heel)
These features give the musician greater flexibility of sound.
