Electrified Acoustic Guitar with AP5 Pro System

The new Maton SRS 808 incorporates solid Blackwood back and sides and a Red Cedar top. It is a beautiful little guitar that combines the full, warm timbres of Blackwood with the brightness of Cedar.

Advanced X bracing and moving the chains to nodal points on the soundboard help improve its vibration. The more advanced position of the X bracing also allows the insertion of a second parallel tone bar, which allows both to be "cleaved" and extend the load while reducing mass. The modified chain heights and a 15-foot fixed radius arch of the bottom gave us the resonance separation we were looking for between soundboard and bottom.  We now have the full, open response on the low frequencies we wanted, but with bright, well-defined highs. 

The new 808 series sounds much "bigger" than we expect from a "small body" guitar. We hoped that the end of this journey would produce a guitar that would wow the player on the first stroke and continue to impress with every aspect of the sound, exceeding expectations-we think we have succeeded.
